I enjoy a Dell Dimension 2400 desktop with window xp and a laptop

with a 80 GB rugged drive and i need to verbs the desktop settings

and files to the laptop so i have adjectives my favorite pages to my laptop.

If 80 GB is not plenty, i will use a portable hard drive.

Answer:

If you enjoy a XP Disk, use the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard---> http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using...
You can use Easy file Transfer which may be on the pc's already or buy intellimover and use that.It is the quickest track. But it will not move application software
The Microsoft Files & Settings Transfer Wizard should work just fine for you. Look contained by your Start menu under Accessories/Systems Tools. It supports a serial cable nouns between the 2 laptops, but you may find saving the record to an external USB drive much faster. Then run the same wizard on your clean machine to introduction your files, desktop settings, file extension associations & favorites. It will adjectives transfer.

There is a seperate download from Microsoft for your Office settings as powerfully. That would cover Outlook if that is your messages client. I run both wizards to help speed setting up topical machines.
