How is a laptop computer used higher than a mountain?

I know this may nouns really silly, but we have a place down surrounded by TN and if we had a laptop, (no phone available) how is it connected to a reception source? Is it used resembling a cell phone? just present me the simplest explanation you can give, i appreciate it.....S.t from ohio

Answer:

You don't own to have a lattice connection to use a laptop...

Though it is possible, if you own cell phone connection...

Or even satellite communications.

Obviously, those would cost more.
If you want the laptop on the internet, and if nearby is no local ISP available, then you can receive a satellite internet, such as Hughes
Verizon, Sprint, Cingular, and probably others, offer giant speed Internet service anywhere in the US where on earth you could get cell phone signal. The monthly tax is lie $100, and the meet people card you need is another $100.

You could also use a cellphone as a modem(just approaching you would with a regular cell phone line), but the connection can be extremely slow.
