Vista is an engineering nightmare. It have terrific overhead, consumes huge amounts of system resources, has built contained by security (such as digital rights management) that benefit Microsoft and partner but cause you total havoc. It's core kernel system have been changed, which did little to upgrade security, but cause chaos for adjectives the antivirus companies.
Vista is turning out to be the worst operating system Microsoft has ever released. Go ahead and download your update collection if you like, but DO NOT install Vista until you're forced to, or they receive major change.
I would rather shoot myself within the face than use Vista.
